The purpose of the Radford Soccer Club Academy is to provide high-level technical instruction to the local youth soccer community. The Academy is open to all 4 - 10 year old boys and girls regardless of current soccer skill level.
Coaching:
The Academy coaching staff is directed by Eric Martin - (434) 489-4296.
Eric holds a NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma, a USSF E License, is the Radford High School JV Girls Soccer Coach and a Radford Soccer Club Coach.
The Academy coaching staff is comprised of other club coaches, collegiate players, and advanced high school players.
Curriculum:
All Academy activities are focused around maximizing the number of touches each player has with a ball – no long lines waiting to perform drills or sitting around listening to lectures. Activities are all game related with the ultimate goal of creating a fast-paced fun environment for each participant.
A sample training session is outlined below:
-- 10 minute warm up (with ball)
-- 15 minute skill session #1 (e.g. trapping)
-- 5 minute water break
-- 15 minute skill session #2 (e.g. passing)
-- 15 minute 1/3 vs. 1/3 tournament
Cost:
The cost for the 2010 Spring RSC Academy is $50.00 per participant which includes a T-shirt and admittance to all training sessions. Players are responsible for bringing cleats, a size 4 ball, shin guards, and a water bottle.
Training Session Dates, Times and Locations:
All Training Sessions will be held at Bissett Park. Training Sessions will begin each Saturday at 9:00 am and end around 10:00 am.

If you would like to participate in the 2010 Radford Soccer Club Academy, please complete a
Registration form. Completed / Signed forms and payment ($50) should be brought to the first session on April 24th. If you can not make the first session, you can still participate in May.
